It has been said that one picture is worth a thousand words.
I agree whole-heartedly and I am committed to using that ancient adage as the standard in my journalistic endeavors.

Nowadays stock images flood the market with bland, formulated photographs devoid of character and resounding with familiarity. Browse through any of the top-selling newsmagazines and notice how the "exclusive" photographs seem unremarkably similar to another publication.

Through my years as a working photographer I have honed a unique style. A style that is driven by a desire to not only bring the "thousand words" to life but to capture the essence of the moment so sincerely that it mezmorizes the heart of the viewer. I seek to move people into the realm of participants instead of mere on-lookers.

So too are my thoughts on print journalism. I avoid the voice of the cynical journalist who simply recites facts and opinions that only serve to taint the reader's personal point of view. In keeping with the "thousand word" adage I write using word pictures that move my readers to see and experience the events as they took place.
