Kim Farrison: MC Extraordinaire
From Seattle to Las Vegas and Spokane to Lincoln City if there is one voice that speaks for Northwest bodybuilding it would have to be that of the “Dancing Emcee” Kim “Kong” Farrison. A contest with out Farrison at the microphone is like a bodybuilder without biceps.
Kim Farrison is not just another pretty face. He has earned the right to share the stage with the brightest talent in the world. Kim is a former Emerald Cup and Washington State Overall Champion. He also placed 4th in the prestigious North American Championships. In his college he wrestled and was All Big Ten NCAA and was named All-American. Kim has competed as a powerlifter and won the west coast championships.
He began his career as a master of ceremonies by calling high school wrestling matches in the Tacoma area. Within two years he was asked to MC larger district and regional meets. Reminiscing of those early days brings one of Farrison’s frequent smiles to his face. “Trying to keep up with four matches at once was no easy feat,” he recalls. With Kim’s knowledge of bodybuilding and his inherent gift of showmanship making the transition to the physique competition stages was a natural progression.
Quick to smile and even faster with a wisecrack, Kim’s on-stage footwork has saved many a show.
Be it a bad cassette tape, a competitor late for the stage or a pair of unmentionables falling out of a female competitor’s posing suit, Kim’s sense of humor and near-perfect timing never fails to keep the show moving smoothly.

He has MC’d the “Cup” for at least the past 10 years.
He is also a regular at both of Frank Bohm’s Portland area shows as well as the Oregon Ironman.
It is safe to say that Kim’s place is cemented in Northwest Bodybuilding. Kim spends his leisure time training with friends at West Seattle’s 24 Hour Fitness or driving around in one of his Jaguars. He enjoys attending weekly bible studies at his church and he donates his talents as MC to a Christian singles group.
